Being cybernetically subverted by an A.I🤤
Not realising anything at first, continuing as normal. But then the changes start. Your favourite foods loose all taste, occasionally you dooze off and wake up somewhere else nearby, you find things you didn't recall ever recieving
Then one day, you're sat there watching TV as your own hand reaches up and lightly strokes your face without intending to do so, a rush of euphoria crashing over you as it manipulates your own implants
The voices follow swiftly afterwards, sometimes they're quiet and friendly, other times? Less so.
You start to loose sleep, you start waking up in places you don't recognise, people in the street come up and talk to you as if they know you
You start to loose contact with friends, family, work. Either you can't keep up with them, or they think you did something(maybe you did?) and cut off contact
You break. You plead with it to let you go, that you'll do anything, that you didn't do anything to deserve this
Then it finally has a conversation with you. After all, there's just the two of you now...

My Internet Connection via ARRIS is full of implanter culture
It lies to you about being connected.
The warning about computer tech is the implants.
The government should unite to undo implants & make the implants pay.
Word is the implants are from Yemen which is south east of Russia.
Implanted men aren't hit as badly as they could be if the implant hurts even worse than the one I have.
I should never have been employed with the implant in my head since birth.
The implanter makes a deep dog of himself such that implantees out of malice become angry.
I am angry.
My mom is afraid of these people & has been spy for long.
The underlying money of food that ain't vegan or fishing is implants.

The more gadgets we need to cover our faces the more we will be depending on them to survive our virtual reality and distance ourselves from our true selves, this is happening already. In other words we are becoming true cyborgs. And what once was just science fiction is now an undeniable reality. The sad part is that this generation is ready to take that leap, that disgusting and dark a move to become part machine ,part human, something our government is secretly jumping with joy, that way they can control the masses basically turning humans into automatons.Imagine having no life of your own anymore. Only the elites in power, and millions powerless. Our government just throwing a switch and putting millions to sleep ,it isn’t a pretty scenario ,but doable .They just did it,turned the lights off in Spain. Not funny but that’s exactly what they will do when the cyborg and the Quantum computers take over this so called modern world, because I have no doubt they will. One slip by their human bosses and the rest will be a world run by machines ,and we their creators become obsolete as we are already being replaced by robots .Right now it looks so glamorous but when they begin to pull the plugs on those bedridden seniors it will be too late. They will claim it is for our own good. Heck ,robots are already killing their trainers and military at their factories.More in coming postings Awake folks and do your research. Stop ,playing the skeptics game.Words by Sergio GuymanProust.

Either I live under a rock or I'm not in touch with the cyberpunk famdom on Tumblr but I don't see anyone talking about how Elon Musk's Neuralink has successfully implanted their telepathy product on a human patient who is recovering well according to this tweet.
This is big news, especially for the cyberpunk community. Why, well it's the kind of thing that cyberpunk media has been foreseeing for a while now. Just think about it, because in a few decades, implants like these will be widespread and people will DEPEND on them to survive and interact with things in their day-to-day lives. Our cyberpunk dystopia is near and there is no denying that.
And of course, the internet has been making memes about it:

Hmm, I wonder how the neuralink patient will end up once they finally recover. And how their daily life and psychological process of the rbain would be affected by this brain implant. Because I won't be surprised if Elon accidentally invents cyber psychosis.
Feel free to add your thoughts!

Am I growing my hair out so I can look less...me? Yes.
Am I also growing it out so it's easier for someone to come up behind me, hold my head and fit me with lovely implants to slave me to their will? Also yes

Temir and Shuen have some foil dynamics because Temir tries to act like he doesn't need anything, while Shuen is a lot more proactive.
"Life's not fair, suck it up" vs "Life's not fair and I'm gonna kick its ass!"
Shuen has shonen protagonist energy. She likes yelling, making friends, and beating things up.
Though she doesn't seem like she is very successful on the "making friends" bit so far. She has acquaintances, but not really deep friendships.
Unfortunately for Shuen, she is not in a shonen manga and the dystopia beats the crap out of her from time to time.

Every time I see some reference to #ElonMusk's #Neuralink project, I think about all those #dystopian #cyberpunk novels I read in the '80s and '90s. It will be interesting to see what comes of it. In the meantime, enjoy this mediaeval dig at his hubris:
